WEARE, NH January 25, 2007 Granite State Telephone is pleased to announce that it is offering $1,000 scholarships to two deserving students in the company's service area. This marks the 14th consecutive year of the independent telecommunications company's scholarship program. Over the years, Granite State Telephone has awarded over $23,000 to New Hampshire students aspiring to further their education.
Scholarships will be awarded for the 2007-08 academic year. To be eligible, candidates must reside in one of the following towns: Chester, East Deering, Hillsboro Upper Village, Sandown, Washington, Weare or Windsor. Applicants must be planning to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational school within the United States.
The scholarships are based on academic merit and financial need and are administered by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. They will be awarded in the summer of 2007.
The application submission deadline is April 13, 2007 for students enrolled in a four-year college, university or graduate program, and June 22, 2007 for students enrolled in a two-year college or vocational program.
