Caller
ID/Caller ID Blocking
Want to know who's calling before you pick up? Caller ID displays the telephone number of the person calling you.
Ever pick up the phone with the expectation of receiving an important call, only to find out it's someone you don't want to talk
to? Caller ID allows you to decide for yourself which calls to answer, and which to follow up on later.
If you do not want your telephone number to be seen by the person you are calling, your line is already equipped for the free service, Per-Call Blocking. To have your telephone number blocked automatically, you may order Line Blocking for a low installation fee.
Rates:
$6.00 per month
HOW TO USE:
When you receive a call, wait for one complete ring. The telephone number of the person calling you will automatically appear on your display screen after the first ring*
If you choose to answer the call, the number will remain on the screen until you or the caller hangs up.
If you don't answer the phone, the number will be saved in the memory so you can see who called.
* Subscription to Caller ID requires the lease or purchase of a display telephone or an add-on display unit. Granite State Telephone has a variety of phones and
Caller ID units available for purchase. Visit our office for a demonstration or call us for a brochure.
Note: If the letter "P" or "private" appears on your screen, the caller may have blocked the display of their number by pressing *67 before placing the call. If an "O" or "out of area" appears, the caller is in an area that does not support Caller ID service.
